SYNOPSIS

Leyla is the daughter of one of the prominent families of a small town. Her lover Fatih, a secondary school teacher, wants to keep their relationship secret for fear that it might harm his career goals.

Leyla, who learns that she is pregnant, wants to talk to Fatih right away. They decide to meet in the afternoon by the lake outside the town. While spending time in the town, Leyla meets a lost old woman with Alzheimer disease and her daughter at a visiting place. Leyla discovers another way of life.

She meets Fatih by the lake. Before the topic of pregnancy came up, Fatih sees two of his students, aged 13-14, who got into the water and sunbathing to dry. Fatih's rude attitude towards his students will wake Leyla from a dream.

DIRECTOR'S NOTE

The film focuses on the problems of being a woman and a child in small towns. However, it tries to do this through a frivolous-unstable town beauty and her educated but scumbag boyfriend, instead of the familiar art-festival movie codes. It vaguely compares the love between children and the love between adults.

As a man, why did I make a film about the woman issue? Actually, the story was a feature-length that started to be developed through children. But when it is decided to make it short, the story was re-written in the center of the character of Leyla, and this was the result. I think the festival audience, which is the main target of the movie, likes this kind of story that doesn't talk big and focuses on character and conflict. I hope this story finds a response in the audience.

We tried to establish the general atmosphere of the movie in a hyper-realistic way seen in Scandinavian and Iranian cinemas. All human eye angles, documentary-like shoulder camera, natural acting without exaggeration were the things we wanted. The film was shot as an Iranian-Turkish co-production.
